The Detroit Tigers are quietly boasting one of the most formidable starting rotations in Major League Baseball, thanks to the dynamic duo of Tarik Skubal and Framber Valdez. These two pitchers have been anchoring the Tigers’ mound with authority, giving fans plenty to cheer about on the defensive side.

However, it’s the offense where the Tigers are hitting a snag, sitting at a 2-4 record early in the season. When the Tigers have thrived in recent years, it’s been through their ability to manufacture runs. While they’ve shown glimpses of this capability, consistency has been elusive.

The offseason saw the Tigers pass on adding a power bat, a decision that might come back to haunt them. As the trade deadline looms, the pressure is on to bolster their lineup. A name that’s been floated around is Isaac Paredes, a versatile infielder with a knack for making things happen at the plate.

Paredes, a two-time All-Star, currently finds himself in a crowded Houston Astros infield. With stalwarts like Christian Walker, Carlos Correa, Jeremy Peña, and Jose Altuve holding down the fort, Paredes might be the odd man out if the Astros struggle to keep pace in the AL West.

Hitting .333 in the early going, Paredes has yet to knock one out of the park in 22 at-bats, but his potential to impact the Tigers’ lineup is undeniable. Adding him could provide the offensive spark Detroit needs to complement their stellar pitching and make a serious run come October.
