The NFL has officially announced the full 2026 regular-season schedule for the San Francisco 49ers, and the road ahead may be one of the toughest schedules in football.
With championship expectations still surrounding head coach Kyle Shanahan and quarterback Brock Purdy, San Francisco will face a brutal combination of division rivalries, playoff contenders, primetime games, and international showcases.
The 49ers officially open the season in Australia with a historic Melbourne Game against the Los Angeles Rams before immediately entering one of the NFL’s most demanding stretches.
San Francisco is scheduled for major national matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, and Miami Dolphins.
The franchise will also become one of the NFL’s global centerpieces this season with appearances in both Melbourne and Mexico City.

Internally, expectations remain championship-or-bust after another aggressive offseason designed to keep the roster among the NFL’s elite contenders.
If San Francisco survives the demanding travel schedule and difficult NFC battles, the 49ers could once again emerge as one of the most feared teams entering January football.
