Green Bay, Wisconsin — The New England Patriots are showing strong determination to upgrade their offense by sending a very attractive trade proposal to the Green Bay Packers to acquire tight end Tucker Kraft.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Patriots have officially sent a major offer to the Packers after June 1 — the period when teams can trade more freely without affecting the salary cap.

Proposed Trade Package:

  • Patriots receive: Tucker Kraft

Packers receive: 2027 First-round pick + 2027 Third-round pick

Multiple sources indicate that New England views this as one of their top priority targets to support the long-term development of quarterback Drake Maye.

With veteran Hunter Henry getting older and in the final year of his contract, the Patriots are looking for a young, high-quality tight end to become the centerpiece of their new offensive system.

Tucker Kraft, 25 years old, is highly regarded for his reliable hands, excellent yards after catch, strong blocking ability, and intelligence in reading defensive coverage.

Many experts believe he is the perfect modern tight end prototype to help a rookie quarterback progress rapidly.

Why the Packers are finding it difficult to decide: Although the offer of a first-round pick plus a third-round pick is quite attractive, Tucker Kraft is currently a key piece in Jordan Love and Matt LaFleur’s offensive plans.

He is viewed as the Packers’ No. 1 tight end, and the Wisconsin team still wants to keep him as a foundation for many seasons to come.

However, with the Packers possessing quite a few mid-round draft selections, they could consider the offer seriously if the Patriots are willing to increase the proposal further or if Kraft demands a large contract in the near future.

At present, this is considered one of the most interesting negotiations of the offseason, as the Patriots are being extremely aggressive in building weapons for Drake Maye, while the Packers must weigh the choice between keeping a young talent or accepting high draft value to rebuild roster depth.
