Sportsnet broadcaster Jamie Campbell fulfilled his promise to Toronto Blue Jays fan Wes Johnson.

Johnson suffers from hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a congenital disorder that leaves the heart’s left ventricle severely underdeveloped.

After years of ongoing complications, doctors have told the family his time is limited.
Despite the challenges he has faced throughout his life, Weslee has remained determined to keep moving forward and embrace every moment.

With only weeks left, he had one final goal: to return to Dunedin, Florida – the Toronto Blue Jays’ spring training home – one last time.

However, making that trip seemed impossible. Weslee’s parents had stepped away from their jobs to care for him full-time during his final days, leaving the family without a steady income.

Campbell stepped in to help bring attention to a fundraiser created to send Weslee on the trip of a lifetime.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters and the attention the fundraiser received, the dream became a reality on Tuesday.

for letting us know about him & his dream. And for helping it come true.

In the midst of heartbreaking circumstances, the story has become a powerful example of compassion, community, and kindness.

Weslee now plans to spend his remaining time surrounded by family and friends.

His mother hopes his story will also encourage others to consider registering as organ donors, a decision that could give other families the precious gift of more time.

Even during life’s most difficult moments, acts of generosity can shine through and make a lasting difference.
