Foxborough, Massachusetts – Less than 24 hours after completing the blockbuster trade to bring A.J. Brown to New England, the Patriots are facing an unexpected development involving one of their most promising young offensive talents.

According to multiple sources, wide receiver Kayshon Boutte has not participated in the team’s recent OTA sessions and is reported to have officially expressed his desire to be traded before the 2026 season.

This move comes immediately after the Patriots significantly strengthened the receiver position by acquiring Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles and Romeo Doubs from free agency earlier.

Boutte, 24 years old, is entering the final year of his rookie contract with a base salary of $3,674,000. The consecutive arrivals of new star receivers are believed to have raised concerns about his long-term role and playing opportunities in New England.

In last season, Boutte continued to show his maturity in the Patriots’ offensive system.

He became one of the team’s most reliable options during the late-season surge, playing a major role in the six consecutive wins that helped New England advance deep into the playoffs and win the AFC championship.

In the 2025 regular season, Boutte recorded 33 receptions for 551 yards and six touchdowns.

He continued to make an impact in the playoffs with nine receptions for 168 yards and one touchdown on the journey that took the Patriots to Super Bowl LX.

According to sources close to the situation, Boutte wants a larger role rather than having to compete in an increasingly crowded receiver group following the Patriots’ aggressive moves in the trade market.

“I’ll only stay with the Patriots if they truly recognize the value I bring, not just view me as a backup option. When you look at Green Bay, you see a stable organization and a coaching staff that is always willing to help young players grow and reach their potential. If the Packers call, I’d be willing to take a pay cut for a genuine opportunity to compete for greatness.”

According to multiple sources, the Green Bay Packers are not only a potential destination but also the landing spot that Boutte is particularly interested in if he leaves New England. The 24-year-old receiver is said to greatly admire Matt LaFleur’s coaching philosophy and the way the Packers have developed young talent over the years.

People close to Boutte say he believes Green Bay could provide a real opportunity to grow his career and become an important part of the team’s long-term plans rather than just playing a supporting role.

Before entering the NFL, Boutte was one of the most sought-after offensive talents in America at LSU. He once set an SEC record with 308 receiving yards in a single game and was named to the Freshman All-America team.

Although he is only 24 years old, Boutte has accumulated 78 receptions, 1,159 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns in his NFL career. Many experts still believe his best years are yet to come.

As of now, the Patriots have not issued any official comment on Boutte’s situation. However, many analysts believe this could be a sign that internal discussions are taking place behind the scenes.

With his young age and significant development potential, Boutte is expected to attract interest from many teams if New England decides to entertain trade offers in the coming time.

The Patriots currently possess one of the most talented receiver groups in the NFL heading into the 2026 season. However, the decision to keep or part ways with Kayshon Boutte could become one of the most notable stories of this summer, especially if the Green Bay Packers truly join the race for his services.
